About Me

Navigating life as a Deaf person is extremely difficult, but writing about it always makes it easier to sort through my thoughts and ideas.

I might be sarcastic, witty and...stop the presses, ~funny~ sometimes but I sometimes write with a degree of seriousness in order to get my thoughts out there. So if you're reading a post that is completely serious, you have my permission to ask me if I'm feeling okay!

Born in Austin, TX but raised in Santa Rosa and Fremont, CA. Born Deaf to two amazing Deaf parents, I have a hearing younger (but taller) brother. I moved to Seattle, WA after graduating with a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations from NTID/RIT.

While at NTID/RIT, I fell in love with social media while studying public relations. I've been on Twitter since 2008, and Facebook a while before that. Being able to interact with people from all over the world with a simple tweet never ceases to amaze me. If you bring up social media in our conversation at the bar, I will go on and on about why I love the entire field of social media. Although, I'm always learning--so try to tell me something about social media that I don't know yet!

My hobbies include tweeting, posting pictures of my cat on Instagram, and exploring Seattle with friends.
